30/7/2022 July 2022 Member of the monthCONGRATULATIONS TOM EYRE FOR BECOMING OUR MEMBER OF THE MONTH FOR JULY!A WORD FROM US…Tom’s not been with us for as long as some of our members but within that time he has taken every in his stride and fully embraced what we have to offer. His positive energy in the morning sessions is infectious and you can guarantee he’s the first to greet new members and welcome them in to our gym. ABOUT TOM…Name:
Tom Eyre Age: 35 Occupation: CEO of a financial technology company Favourite movement: Deadlifts Least favourite movement: Running How long have you been a member of CrossFit Wolfram? 5 months Why did you start training with us? I wanted to find something that was more engaging and fun than simply lifting weights in a gym. I’d heard good things about Wolfram and so I thought I’d give it a try. What do you love most about coming to the box? Where to start…. When I first started training at Wolfram I was just looking for a less boring way to stay in shape, what I’ve found is much more than that. I love the varied nature of the training, this keeps things interesting every day. The simplicity of just knowing that I need to turn up and do the work and all the programming is taken care of. Checking in on the WOD the night before training. The people, the familiar faces and the community. I love the positivity and encouragement. But I think my favourite part of training at Wolfram is that I used to do phys for vanity reasons, to look good in the mirror - but since starting Crossfit I’ve found that becoming less and less important - it’s now about being physically healthy, being able to move well and achieving things I wouldn’t have thought possible before. The vanity stuff is now just a happy side benefit. What has been your best CrossFit achievement so far, and what is your next CrossFit goal? Completing Murph this year. It was hard but great fun. My next goal is to nail a few more PB’s. What are your favourite things to do outside of the box? Trying out new restaurants with my wife, Megan. And finally, what would you say to anyone thinking about joining CrossFit Wolfram? Just do it! Whatever your current fitness levels are, whatever it is you want to achieve from doing physical exercise, this will work for you. The first couple of weeks are tough, leave your ego at the door and just enjoy doing whatever you can in the sessions. The community, people, fun, laughter, positivity, sense of satisfaction and achievement carry you through the physically challenging parts of Crossfit and before you know it you’ll be fitter, faster and stronger.
